Seaton (Axe Valley Heritage) Museum offers an instructive and detailed insight into the local history and cultural heritage of the Axe Valley region. The museum concentrates on the lower Axe Valley and also includes the adjacent villages of Beer, Axmouth, Branscombe, Colyton and Colyford.
It's a great place to find out more about the history of Seaton and surrounding villages. It has an amazing collection of artefacts and photos about the lives of local people from prehistoric times to modern day and fosters a deeper appreciation for local narratives and heritage.
We host school and youth group visits and we're keen to educate the younger generation.

We are open Monday to Friday, from 11am to 4pm from late May until the end of October.
We'd love to see you!
Please note: the museum is upstairs and unfortunately there is no disabled access.
Open today | 11:00 – 16:00 |
The museum is run by The Axe Valley Heritage Association. It is a charity (No. 298276) and it relies largely on the subscriptions of its members and visitors’ donations to run the museum. All staff are volunteers.
If you would like to join the AVHA, we welcome new members.
Membership fees are £12 per year (£15 joint). Our members receive regular newsletters with updates and articles about local history and the museum, as well as discounts on tickets for talks.
If you would like to join, please ask the museum stewards for a membership form or click on this button.
